The village of Tarbert is situated in the north of the Kintrye Peninsula. The village is 38 miles from Campbeltown and 48 miles from Oban. South of Tarbert takes you down towards the Mull of Kintyre.
The village is well served with shops, hotels and restaurants. The village has a 9 hole golf course, an all weather tennis court, facilities for loch and sea fishing and various forest and hill walks. From the East Pier in the village you can make the 20-minute ferry journey across Loch Fyne to Portavadie on the Cowal Peninsula.
The islands of Arran, Gigha and Islay all have ferry terminals a short bus or car journey from the village. North of Tarbert takes you to Mid-Argyll where the Picts established their foothold in Scotland.
The Mull of Kintyre Music Festival (MOK Fest), usually in August each year. It takes place in Campbeltown and is a celebration of music and culture set against the beautiful backdrop of Kintyre. Showcasing a range of genres, from traditional Scottish and Pan-Irish folk music to contemporary rock and pop acts.
KilmartinGlen is where you can see the Temple Wood circle of standing stone, dating back to 3000 BC. There are also a number of impressive medieval sites in the area and a fascinating range of exhibits at the Kilmartin Glen Museum.

Tarbert golf course is only 2 miles from the village, situated above the West Loch. Additionally the Kintyre peninsula offers a range of other courses at Carradale, Southend and the famous Machrihanish.
A 100-mile walking route that meanders the entire length of the peninsula, with majestic hills, ancient castles, deep forests and secret coves, pristine beaches and welcoming village communities.
Approximately 20 minutes from Kennacraig, the Caledonian MacBrayne's ferry terminal for the crossing to the beautiful island of Islay.
